Numerous Removals of Liquor Licences for Endeavour Group

We are pleased to have again assisted Endeavour Group Limited with six concurrent removal applications to the company’s Barangaroo offices.

Liquor licences are rights attaching to land rather than strictly to a person or company. This means that when moving premises or negotiating leases, it is important to consider how you might retain the benefit of the licence, or whether it remains at the original premises.

For Endeavour, six licences across a variety of brands including Shorty’s Liquor, Langton’s and Jimmy Brings were removed from premises throughout Sydney to the corporate headquarters. As each licence applies to a part of the office space, Endeavour retains the benefit of the licences without having to have them deployed and operational at a separate site.

Our team made submissions for consideration by the Board of the NSW Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority requesting that each of the licences apply to a part of the same office space under a single interested party. While this is usually prohibited, the articulated reasons led to approval being granted in this case.

For our client, the approvals represent certainty, efficiency and lower operational costs by consolidating components of their business with complete capability to reactivate the benefit of the liquor licences. If you are considering relocating your liquor licence, or have any other licensing related questions, please reach out to our team at licensing@bsvliquorlicence.com.au, or on (02) 8530 0333.
