Prince of Wales Hotel Muswellbrook & BWS Muswellbrook

We are pleased to have assisted Upper Hunter Motors Pty Limited in securing approval for a new BWS bottleshop at 36 Sydney Street, Muswellbrook, which will transfer to Endeavour Group upon approval.

The new BWS store will partly replace the existing hotel licence attached to the Prince of Wales Hotel at the same address, which is currently trading as a bottleshop. While the Hotel Licence does not operate as a typical hotel, this approval will redefine the Licence to a single on-site room, where it will remain dormant, and include a condition prohibiting takeaway packaged liquor sales while the BWS store trades from the site.

This means that if the Hotel Licence is activated in the future, it would function as a traditional hotel licence, offering on-premises services such as dining and drinking, while remaining prohibited from selling packaged liquor.

This approval allows Upper Hunter Motors Pty Limited to retain the Hotel Licence for potential future on-premises use, while clearly separating those activities from the sale of packaged liquor.
